Crown Cassette, a band of four stellar humans, hails from Lawrence, Kansas but was forged from the blazing fires of rock and roll! Our musical roots run deep, inspired by the electric energy of the 70s, the pop sensibilities of the 80s, and the gritty sounds of the 90s. Our original tunes embody these influences and deliver an experience that will have you playing air guitar and singing along. Let us be your go-to rock music band!

The musical prowess of Crown Cassette comes from our stellar lineup. 

· Thad Reist (guitar) is a Kansas native, an accomplished music major from Kansas State University, and enjoys all music regardless of genre, from Country to Jazz and everything in between. Thad is a respected musician who has performed around Northeast Kansas for over 40 years. He not only plays a smoking lead guitar, but he is also an accomplished piano and organ player and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from K-State. During the week, Thad works as a music teacher for the North Lyon County School District. 

· Billy Skorupski (bass) moved to Lawrence, Kansas nearly 20 years ago, when he accepted a position as a professor of statistics at the University of Kansas. For Billy, “music is math” (but to him, that’s a good thing!). Performing for over 30 years, Billy honed his skills playing in various bands on the East Coast while based in his home state of New Jersey. Billy and Thad were founding members of the jazz-infused Lawrence indie rock band “HouseProud,” and together they form the songwriting duo behind Crown Cassette’s driving melodies and powerful rhythms. 

· Speaking of rhythm, Kori Staab (drums) keeps the beat with a skill that can only be described as otherworldly. Loving the art of music, Kori Staab MME, MT-BC, has devoted much of her life to music earning her bachelor’s degree in music education at Kansas State University and her master’s degree in music education and music therapy at the University of Kansas. Kori plays an integral role in crafting Crown Cassette’s original sound bringing the right amount of power, technique, and creativity to each show. Kori’s day job is teaching piano and drum lessons at Keys of Joy in Lawrence, Kansas, as well as providing in-home music therapy services. Kori has extensive experience with autism spectrum disorders and other learning and behavioral disabilities. She is a teacher and music therapist for a wide range of children and adults, and she loves to help them learn to communicate and succeed.

· Fronting the band is Sabrena Jo (lead vocalist, lyricist, and theremin player) who adds a touch of uniqueness to our sound that will have you begging for more. Fronting this high energy band is no easy task and she kills it! Engaging the crowd with her intensity, artistry, and charisma is icing on the cake. Sabrena is from a musical family and collaborating in Crown Cassette with her husband, Billy, and the rest of the band ticks one more item off her bucket list. 

Leaning into their musical influences, Crown Cassette proudly writes their music and lyrics. Each band member’s journey includes the artists and songs that made an impression on their lives. All four members have an extremely wide variety of musical influences, but they all agree that Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Van Halen, and Pixies have impacted their musical concept and style.
